Today, I will show you how to transform a peanut can into a spring flower decoration. This craft is quick and easy. The best part about this craft is once you're done this decoration is adorable when added to existing spring decor. If you're ready let's begin creating your very own spring flower decoration.

DIY Spring Decor: Upcycling a Peanut Can into a Flower Decoration

Materials needed

One peanut can or any can that you would like to reuse
Artificial Spring flowers and foliage
One mini bunny decoration (I'm using the one from Dollar Tree)
Acrylic paint (I'm using white)
Twine
Paintbrush
Hot glue
Foam block
One craft stick

Step one: Preparing the Peanut Can

Peanut can, acrylic paint, and paintbrush

Begin by applying a few layers of paint to your peanut can. I recommend using at least three coats of paint. Be sure to allow each coat to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Step two: Attaching the Twine or Craft String

Take your twine or craft string and glue down one end to the peanut can. This will help keep the string in place when you wrap it around the can. Start wrapping the string around the twine or string around the can, creating a decorative pattern. Wrap it a few times to cover the middle section of the can. Cut the end of the string using scissors and secure it with hot glue. You can create a bow if you want an extra design.

Step three: Decorate the Craft Stick

Optionally, paint the craft stick to match the overall look decoration.

Next, use hot glue to attach the bunny decoration to the top of the craft stick. You can find a pack of the bunny decorations at your local Dollar Tree. If not, feel free to use any other spring decorations or embellishments.

Step four: Insert the Foam Block

Insert a foam block into the peanut can. If the foam block is too large, trim it down using a plastic craft knife until it fits snugly inside of the can.

Step five: Arrange the Flowers and add the Bunny Decoration

Use floral cutters to trim your flowers to the appropriate size. Insert the flower stems into the foam block, arranging them as desired. You can mix different types of flowers for a vibrant look.

Place the bunny decoration inside the peanut can, positioning it toward the back. The bunny adds a charming touch to your spring decoration.
