DIY Wooden Hello Sign

Hi there! I hope you are doing well. With the Spring season approaching, I have an easy DIY project idea for you. You can create a beautiful wooden hello sign to add a pretty touch to your home decor. I got inspired by spring flowers, colors, and butterflies.

You'll need a wooden board and some design elements when creating this sign. Add one hello sign, a floral napkin design using Mod Podge, and artificial flowers. You can also add ribbon or fabric to enhance the design. I'll guide you through the process with step-by-step instructions and ideas. Let's get started!

Step 1: Applying acrylic paint to the hello sign and wooden board

Let's start by painting the wooden board and hello sign with acrylic paint. I decided to paint the wooden board white and the hello sign light pink. Lately, I've been fond of the lighter pink color.

Step 2: Applying Mod Podge and decorative napkin

Once the paint has dried, we can begin adding the decorative napkin and Mod Podge. Cut a section of the napkin design and remove the second layer. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the wooden board, then place the napkin on top. Cover the napkin with a piece of parchment paper and use a mini iron to gently smooth out any wrinkles. This technique yields smooth results, but feel free to use a technique that suits you better.

Step 3: Adding fabric or ribbon to the sign

Next, you can add fabric or ribbon to the wooden board. I decided to add a small section of light pink fabric just outside the napkin design. Using a small amount of hot glue, I attached the fabric to the board.

Step 5: Adding artificial flowers to the sign

Finally, it's time to add artificial flowers to the sign. I added a few flowers and leaves to my design and a butterfly embellishment near the flowers.

That's it! Your hello wooden sign is complete. I love that I was able to reuse scrap wood from my garage as the main element of the design. Thank you for creating this easy DIY craft with me. See you soon!
