DIY Magnetic Faux Succulent & Floral Lids — Upcycled Fridge Accent

I created these magnetic faux succulent and floral lids using some metal jar tops that I had saved. With a little creativity, they transformed into charming, lightweight accents that add a pop of color and personality to the fridge. Each lid features its own tiny arrangement—part succulent and part floral—all crafted with intention and charm. This project is easy and budget-friendly, allowing you to use items you already have while adding a lovely touch to your home.

Materials

• Metal jar lids (one large, one small)
• Letter beads (to spell LOVE)
• Faux moss
• Faux succulents
• Faux vines
• Faux flowers (pink, green foliage, white accents)
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks
• Magnets

I began with the larger metal lid, attaching small letter beads to spell out LOVE. This created a meaningful little focal point and set the tone for the rest of the design.

Next, I glued a layer of faux moss along the bottom of the lid. The moss added softness and helped anchor the colorful succulents and trailing vines I arranged on top. Each piece tucked in nicely, creating a bright, textured look inside the lid.

For the smaller lid, I went with a more floral approach. I started with a bright pink flower as the main element, added green foliage for contrast, and finished with a few small white flowers to complete the arrangement.

Once both lids were fully arranged, I flipped them over and added a magnet to the back of each one. The magnets that I used clung to each lid; I did not need to add glue. After the glue cooled, they were ready to display — cheerful, lightweight, and perfect for adding a little handmade charm to the fridge.

These little magnetic lids were a fun way to reuse items I already had and transform them into something sweet and meaningful. Each lid has its own personality, featuring a mix of succulents, florals, textures, and colors, all tucked inside a simple metal cap. Once the magnets are added, they become cheerful accents for the fridge, perfect for holding notes, photos, or simply brightening the space.

This is a simple project that is easy to customize and serves as a lovely reminder that even the smallest materials can become beautiful with a touch of creativity. I hope this inspires you to see your leftover lids in a new light and create a few pieces of your own.
