• Acrylic paint (white, pinks, greens, yellow)
• Mod Podge (for sealing)
• Paintbrushes
• Vinyl lettering (created using a Cricut machine)
• Optional: Stickers or other lettering if you don’t have a vinyl cutter

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Design & Prepare Your Letters

Decide on the wording for your sign. I went with “Oh Hello”, cutting the letters using my Cricut machine. If you're designing your own lettering, measure your wooden board and adjust the text to fit accordingly. Once cut, set the letters aside for later.

2. Paint the Sign Base

Since the wooden board is unfinished, applying a few coats of white acrylic paint will help create a clean, bright background. Let each coat dry before adding the next to ensure smooth coverage.

3. Add Color to the Engraved Flowers

Enhance the engraved flower design with a variety of acrylic paints, including darker pinks, lighter pinks, shades of green, and yellow. Experiment with blending colors to give depth and vibrancy to the floral details.

4. Apply Your Vinyl Letters

I ended up using a craft knife along the lines of the wooden sign. This helped the letters in some areas fit between the lines on the sign.

5. Seal the Sign with Mod Podge

To protect your painted design and lettering, apply a layer of Mod Podge over the entire sign. This step will seal the colors and ensure your artwork stays intact for seasons to come. You can also use a clear coat protectant spray if you prefer.
