DIY Easy Hexagon Artificial Flower Garden Decoration

 Today, I'll guide you through transforming a simple, unfinished hexagon box into an eye-catching hanging planter. This project merges the vibrant charm of peel-and-stick floral wallpaper from Dollar Tree with the natural texture of craft moss, faux flowers, and floral accessories. Whether you're an experienced crafter or new to DIY, this step-by-step guide is meant to inspire you to bring a touch of nature into your favorite space.

Materials You’ll Need

Before you dive into this project, gather the following supplies:

• Unfinished Hexagon Box

• Acrylic Paint: I'm using white acrylic paint for the outer surface of my box.

• Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper: A floral design from Dollar Tree that sets a charming background.

• Scissors: For cutting the wallpaper. You may need a craft knife to cut your craft block to size.

• Craft Foam Block: For inserting the flowers into.

• Hot Glue Gun: To secure your design elements in place.

• Flower Accessories: Small decorative items that add extra charm.

• Faux Flowers: Create a faux flower display.

• Craft Moss: To mimic the lush greenery of a natural garden.

Tracing your hexagon box onto the peel-and-stick paper

 

Start by placing your box on the paper with the decorative side facing down. Use a pencil to outline the box on the paper.

Cutting out the shape

 

Next, use scissors to cut the shape from the peel-and-stick paper. After cutting the shape, adjust the edges using your scissors until it fits inside the box. Once it fits, remove the backing from the paper and insert it into the box.

Applying acrylic paint to the box

 After inserting the paper, use a paintbrush to paint the box. I used white paint for mine, but you can choose any color you like.

Attaching the foam block

Now, attach the foam block to the bottom of the box using hot glue. I had precut the foam to fit my hexagon box, but you can adjust the size according to your box's dimensions.

Adding craft moss

Using hot glue, begin attaching the craft moss over the foam block. I placed the craft moss on the front side of the foam block.

Adding flowers and accessories

 

Finally, insert the flowers into the foam block. I selected a variety of flowers for the display and included flower accessories to complete the arrangement.

Find a spot in your home—a sunny kitchen corner, a breezy living room, near the front door, or a cheerful hallway—where this artificial hanging planter can be beautifully displayed.
