DIY Dollar Tree Flower Sign for Spring Decor

Hi everyone! Today, I'm excited to share with you a cheerful spring flower sign. This craft is easy to make, and I chose to use materials I already had available. You might have some of these items in your craft supplies. For this project, I decided to use the words from a decorative napkin, along with faux flowers, one wooden butterfly, and moss. I will provide a full materials list below. I would love it if you joined me as we create this simple spring sign that’s perfect for the season.

Video tutorial

Materials:

- One flower sign (I purchased this at Dollar Tree)

- One wooden butterfly or another decoration of your choice

- Lettering (I'm using the words from a decorative napkin)

- Paint (white and gold)

- Craft moss

- Paintbrush

- Hot glue

- Mod Podge

Begin by applying acrylic paint to the flower sign. I chose to use white paint for my sign. This paint is relatively light, and I knew it wouldn't stand out. I wanted a subtle color because I used a sponge brush to dab on a gold color after applying it. Using the sponge brush, I dotted the gold over the white.

Next, I cut out the wording from the decorative napkin with scissors. You can use stickers, vinyl letters, or any lettering you choose. I chose "Happy Spring."

I used Mod Podge to attach the lettering to the sign. I applied Mod Podge directly to the sign and placed the cutout over the Mod Podge before letting it dry, then applied a second layer of Mod Podge over the design.

When adding the florals, I used hot glue to attach the pre-cut faux flowers to the bottom of the flower sign. Then, I decided to glue a small section of craft moss over the lower part of the flowers.

Lastly, I added the gold paint to the wooden butterfly before gluing it to the flower sign.

I love the simplicity of this sign. It's perfect for displaying on your front door this Spring. Thank you for visiting and creating with me.
