Dollar Tree Galvanized Hanging Flower Decoration

 Hello everyone. How's the weather over where you are at? We've been experiencing some rain, and wind for about a week. We also have been having a few air quality alerts as well. I found this galvanized flower hanging decoration during a recent trip to my local Dollar Tree. I love simple projects where you can transform an item and give it a new look. This is an easy project and you won't need many materials.

Unpainted galvanized flower decor, paint, scissors and other craft materials

Materials

One galvanized flower decoration

Acrylic paint

Mod podge-optional

One ribbon heart-you can find a pack at Dollar Tree

One mini craft clothespin

Hot glue

Paintbrush

Twine

Scissors

Any other embellishments to add to your design.-I decided to use a butterfly and flowers

Begin by taking your acrylic paint and adding it to the watering can section of your sign.

Next, take your second paint color and use it to outline your watering can.  I found that it was easier to outline that section using a smaller paintbrush. Once you have outlined your can, begin to apply paint to the leaves on your sign. I used the same paint color on my leaves.

You can now apply paint to the flowers on your galvanized sign.

I decided to apply a coat of mod podge over my acrylic paint to seal the acrylic paint. This step is optional.

Next, take twine and begin to wrap it just below the leaves. Wrap it around a few times, and use scissors to cut off any of the remaining twine. Turn your sign over and use hot glue to glue your twine in place.

After, take your mini clothespin, fabric heart, and any embellishments and add them to your sign. I added the clothespin to the watering can section of my sign. You can either add the heart in just by opening your clothespin, or you can glue it in place. Take a little glue and add your other embellishments.

I added a few floral embellishments as a bonus. One in the middle of the heart, and one in the middle of the twine section.
