Upcycled Canvas Frame Spring Hanging Decoration

Hello everyone! If you're new here on my blog, welcome! I am so happy that you decided to stop by.
Today we are creating a simple Spring upcycled decoration. I decided to reuse my canvas frame for this project and I love how easy it was to give this a new look.

Watch the video tutorial below

Materials

One canvas frame
I had this from an older craft and decided to reuse it on this craft
Decorative napkin
Mod Podge
Scissors
Bird decorations-purchased at Dollar Tree
Paintbrush
Acrylic paint-I'm mixing white and purple together
Twine
Faux floral

This would be perfect for this craft if you have a canvas frame on hand. If you do not have a canvas frame, or would instead use a frame of your choice, that will also work. I started by applying white acrylic paint to my frame. Allow your frame to dry before applying your second color to your frame. I decided to use a lighter purple over my white paint.

Next, you are ready to start working with your decorative napkin and mod podge.

Before applying your mod podge to your birds, use a pencil to trace your birds out on your napkin. You could also just place your napkin over your birds after applying your mod podge and cut off the excess napkin. I decided to trace my birds out onto my napkin and cut the shapes out. Before applying my mod podge, I used my white acrylic paint and painted over the birds. The black surface on the birds is actually a chalkboard surface.

You are now ready to add your twine. I added a strand of twine to the back of my canvas frame for hanging my decoration. I used some of my hot glue to attach my twine. You could also use E6000.

After adding your twine, take your birds and attach them to your frame using either hot glue or any adhesive of your choice. I decided to add one bird on top, and one in the bottom corner.

Next, take your faux floral and begin to cut them to size. I added a few of my flowers to each corner where I had not placed my birds.

This is completely optional, but you can take a strand of craft pearls and add them to your birds. I thought this gave it a cute appearance.

Your decoration is complete and ready to be displayed. I loved how simple this was to create. And I love that I was able to reuse my canvas frame.  Thank you so much for stopping by and creating this craft with me. I'll see you soon.
